EFM (ethernet first mile)

Ethernet in the first mile (EFM) is built on a robust and proven network structure using multiple copper pairs to deliver high capacity Ethernet services as an ideal upgrade for customers still using SDSL or Lease Line services.

EFM is a superior technology delivered using less copper pairs yet not compromising on speed. In fact we can provide symmetrical (upload and download) speeds of 2Mbps going up to 10Mbps over 2 copper pairs and 20Mbps on 4 copper pairs.

MPLS

Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), once the sole domain of major corporations and telecom carriers, has gone mainstream and enterprises are increasingly developing strategies to migrate to MPLS-based WAN services. The growing need for companies to reduce costs, increase productivity, support more applications, and ramp up security is driving today's shift to MPLS.

MPLS enables companies to converge voice, video and data on a single network while its any-to-any topology offers network managers the flexibility to divert traffic around link failures and network congestion on the fly. MPLS traffic engineering and precise traffic routing allows businesses to pack more data into their bandwidth on hand and reduces router-processing requirements.

This cost-effective, fast and highly scalable network technology supports prioritized network traffic, predictable application performance, and built-in Quality of Service (QoS). As carriers look to phase out legacy WAN services with MPLS technology, businesses who adopt MPLS will not only be ahead of the curve financially, they will also be positioned to embrace growth.

Lease Lines

A lease line is a symmetric telecommunications line connecting two or more locations in exchange for a monthly rent (hence the term lease). It is sometimes known as a 'Private Circuit' or 'Data Line' . Unlike traditional PSTN lines it does not have a telephone number, each side of the line being permanently connected to the other. Leased lines can be used for telephone, data or Internet services..

Typically, leased lines are used by businesses to connect geographically distant offices. Unlike dial-up connections, a leased line is always active. The fee for the connection is a fixed monthly rate. The primary factors affecting the monthly fee are distance between end points and the speed of the circuit. Because the connection doesn't carry anybody else's communications, the carrier can assure a given level of quality.

An internet leased line is a premium internet connectivity product, delivered over fiber normally, which is dedicated and provides un-contended, symmetrical speeds, Full Duplex.

Internet trunk lines (SIP)

The launch of the Openreach 21 Century Network will see the birth of Internet Trunk lines. These lines will eventually replace analogue and ISDN trunk lines for everyday business use. SIP trunks will offer all the features and facilities of legacy trunk lines with the additional benefit of number portability. No longer will you have to change telephone number when move premises.
